EUAN BLACKMAN ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE ‘SINKING’
TO BE RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 2
Euan Blackman will release his new single ‘Sinking’ on September 2nd. It is Blackman’s second single from his forthcoming debut EP ‘Grateful For The Moments Spent Alone, following his debut single ‘24 Hours 7 Days’ which came out in July.
‘Sinking’ was self-written and produced in his bedroom studio over lockdown in rural Warwickshire. It features an unapologetically stripped-down arrangement, with Euan’s soft double tracked vocals sitting intimately upfront. His inspirations when crafting the song were Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Phoebe Bridgers and Bruce Springsteen.
“To put it unpretentiously, Sinking is about falling in love for the first time, the notion that you are ‘sinking’ deeper into the sentiment” says Blackman. “My favourite line comes in the second verse where I suggest that love can evoke the same feelings as art, such as Bowie and Kerouac.”
Euan’s previous single ’24 Hours 7 Days’ achieved success, being played on BBC Merseyside, BBC Coventry and Warwickshire, BBC Hereford and Worcester and BBC Shropshire. He has been described as having ‘the rare ability to stop you in your tracks when you hear his music’ - The Perfect Tempo.
His sound and songwriting have already been praised by the likes of Radio 1 DJ Jack Saunders, acclaimed folk artist Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.
Euan Blackman’s music may just be starting out, but it feels like you’ve known him for some time.
